BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — Officials confirm they have made an arrest in a double shooting that left one person dead in northwest metro Atlanta, Thursday evening.
According to the Bartow County coroner, authorities responded to the incident before 3 p.m. The Bartow County Sheriff's Office told 11Alive deputies responded to Franklin Drive off Cassville Road to find a person fatally shot outside a home.
Officials said another person had been shot, but ran away from the scene. That person was later transported to a trauma center for treatment.
After several hours, officials said they had made an arrest in the incident, identifying 27-year-old Justin Lee Wade as the alleged shooter. However, they are still trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
Authorities took Wade into custody in Floyd County, but he will be transported to the Bartow County Jail to be booked.
He is being charged with murder and aggravated assault.
