FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — A manhunt is on in metro Atlanta for a daring duo accused of being on a gold-stealing crime spree. And for some reason, the crooks have a thing for Kohl's.

Police say the duo is responsible numerous gold jewelry thefts. Just last week investigators say they hit one of the department stores in Fayetteville.

While other shoppers were inside, they somehow made off with an undisclosed amount of gold jewelry. Officers say they are involved in similar thefts at Kohl's stores in McDonough, Stockbridge and Newnan.

Stealing shiny bling can be tempting to the common crook, but last week, some teenagers in Florida found out it can be risky. They were accused of robbing gold rings from a Jewelry store in Martin County.

Police say the owner chased them out the store and opened fire, hitting one teenager in the car in the head. He's still in critical condition. The store owner has not been charged.

Back in metro Atlanta, there’s been no word on if these alleged suspects are flashing weapons in metro Atlanta.

Officers say they were last seen driving an older-model Chevy Impala with a missing hubcap and no tags.
