Were you in downtown during rush hour wondering why all the stoplights were out? Georgia Power says a dropped dumpster may be to blame.
A Georgia Power spokesperson confirms that a crane carrying a large dumpster with heavy items contents inside fell, knocking down lines and creating a power outage for more than 5,000 people in Atlanta.
The power outages could not have come at a worse time, as many were stuck in Downtown Atlanta during rush hour. Even SkyView Atlanta was affected by the outage.
Power was restored to the area around 7 p.m..
