Smokey fire destroys contents in Gwinnett clothing warehouse

Fire officials said the "contents" within the warehouse did experience heavy smoke damage.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A clothing warehouse in Gwinnett County experienced heavy smoke damage early Thursday morning. 

According to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, the fire and smoke damage happened at the warehouse located on Faith Industrial Drive in Buford. 

Crews worked to overhaul the fire for hours, according to a tweet from Gwinnett Fire. The investigation revealed the warehouse didn't go up in flames, but heavy smoke was seen coming out of the building. 

Officials said they used multiple hand lines, two aerial ladders, and foam to extinguish the fire. The technique used allowed the firefighters to stop the fire from "venting the entire roof" with the exception of the right front corner, according to a tweet.
