Lucy McBath tweets picture from behind congressional desk 'This is for you, Jordan'

Lucy McBath will be the first Democrat to represent the 6th District in nearly 40 years.

Lucy McBath, the newly-elected congresswoman representing the 6th District of Georgia, tweeted a photo from behind her Congressional desk  – while emphasizing her commitment to gun reform legislation.

“Never thought I would be here. This is for you, Jordan. And for every single family impacted by gun violence in this country – let’s get to work. #GA06.”

McBath made history in the 2018 midterm elections after beating political veteran, Republican Karen Handel, by less than 3,000 votes.

It was just last year that Democrat Jon Ossoff waged the most expensive congressional campaign in the history of the planet – for a seat in Congress that had been Republican for nearly 40 years.

A political newcomer, McBath has been an advocate for gun control after losing her son, Jordan Davis, to gun violence.

Davis, from Marietta, was killed when a man named Michael Dunn shot into the SUV he was sitting in with friends at a Florida gas station. They were parked at a gas station and Dunn complained that their music was too loud.

He was convicted of premeditated murder.
