Atlanta Falcons receiver Mohamed Sanu paid tribute to the late Stan Lee when he took the field against the Dallas Cowboys during Sunday night's game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Sanu had the Marvel comic book legend sketched onto the side of his cleats in a Spider-Man motif, a nod to the superhero Lee helped created.
Lee died last week at the age 95. During his long career, he helped create or co-create many well-known characters, like the Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Black Panther and others.
He also made memorable cameos on screen in several of the Marvel movies.
