Teen killed in Gwinnett County shooting | What we've learned from police

Officers said early Saturday morning, they responded to Northside Hospital Duluth at 2:15 a.m. regarding the news.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A 17-year-old was shot and killed in Duluth over the weekend, according to Gwinnett County Police.

Officers said early Saturday morning, they responded to Northside Hospital Duluth at 2:15 a.m. regarding the news.

Investigators eventually found that the shooting itself happened in a parking lot on Satellite Boulevard.

At the time of the initial investigation, the boy was listed as critical. However, officers said they learned Saturday night that the teen died from his injuries. They add that he was brought to the hospital by friends.

The victim has now been identified as Elbert "Josh" Brown from Snellville.

Right now, officers have very little information as to how the shooting unfolded and there are no suspects in custody.
