COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — One man is dead and another was taken to the hospital after being shot in the head, according to Coweta County Sheriff's deputies.
It all happened just after midnight Tuesday at a home near Deep South Road and Johnson Road. Officials said one man, later identified by family members as Marvin Bridges, died at the hospital while the other man's condition is not known at this time.
Bridge's family is in shock after learning that two relatives were shot in the head.
"Everyone is very devastated, it was unexpected," said a family member, who wanted to remain anonymous.
Deputies with the sheriff's office have not said who shot the two men at this time. Family members believe that the shooting might have been from an attempted armed robbery.
The other man's name has not been released at this time, but family members said Bridges and the other man were related.
Family members remember Bridges as a loving man who loved animals.
"To us, he was loving he was caring. He loves animals and he was a good person," said the family member.
No one has been arrested at this time, according to authorities. Investigators are still working to figure out what led up to the shooting.
"We have multiple investigations who are investigating leads that they have and we are asking the community to come forward if they know anything," said Coweta County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Toby Nix.
