COLLEGE PARK, Ga. – After four days, a missing College Park 14-year-old daughter was found.
Yaniya Jovon Carter had been missing since 11 a.m. on Nov. 26 from the College Park area.
Yevette Carter, Yaniya’s mother, reported her missing to Fulton County police on Sunday. According to the police report, it was unusual for Yaniya to leave without telling anyone where she was going.
Yevette stated in the report that her daughter went for a walk on Kent Road. She said Yaniya has gone to a friend’s house before without notifying her until after the fact, but would return shortly after.
Yevette told police she had not seen or heard from her daughter for hours and that is not her normal behavior.
The report stated Yaniya’s behavior began to change and her mother felt it was influenced by her alleged boyfriend, 19-year-old Gregory Harris. Yevette stated in the report that it was not proven but she strongly believed her daughter might have run off with Harris “due to their relationship being forbidden.”
There is no word on if Yaniya was found with Harris or if he will be facing any charges.
