ATLANTA — In the past two weeks, a string of new guilty pleas has emerged in the Georgia 2020 election RICO case that saw Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani and others indicted in Fulton County.
In all, 19 people were charged in the indictment. But with the latest guilty plea on Tuesday, Oct. 24, that number has now whittled down to 15.
Here's who among the 19 co-defendants have so far taken a deal:
- Scott Hall, Sept. 29: Hall, an Atlanta area bail bondsman, was charged for his involvement in the breach of election system equipment in Coffee County. He pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with the performance of election duties. His deal requires five years of probation, a $5,000 fine, 200 hours of community service and an apology to the citizens of Georgia.
- Sidney Powell, Oct. 19: Powell, an attorney who brought the infamous "Kraken" lawsuits after the 2020 election in several states, was accused of backing the Coffee County breach. She pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with the performance of election duties. Her deal resulted in six years of probation, a $6,000 fine, $2,700 in restitution to the state of Georgia, and an apology letter. She also must testify for prosecutors in future proceedings in the election RICO case.
- Kenneth Chesebro, Oct. 20: Chesebro is a Georgia attorney who was charged for his role in the coordination and execution of a plan to have 16 Georgia Republicans submit an illegitimate slate of Electoral College votes for Trump. He pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to commit filing false documents and received five years probation, has to pay a $5,000 restitution, must perform 100 hours of community service and also craft an apology letter to the people of Georgia.
- Jenna Ellis, Oct. 24: An attorney with the 2020 Trump campaign, Ellis was charged for involvement in meetings with state legislators where fraud allegations were lobbied as the campaign sought to convince lawmakers in several states they could convene special sessions to abruptly change state law and give their states' electoral votes to Trump. She pleaded guilty to a single count of aiding and abetting false statements and writings. She got five years probation, a $5,000 fine, 100 hours of community service and agreed to testify for prosecutors in future proceedings. She also read an apology in court.
