ATLANTA — Nicole Hartford is a meteorologist for 11Alive weekend mornings. She is an Atlanta native (outside the perimeter if you want to get technical) and returned home to join the 11Alive team in February 2022.
Nicole graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in meteorology and mathematics. She started her career at KKCO/KJCT in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she dabbled in a little bit of everything – weather, anchoring, producing, and reporting.
Nicole spent the next seven years in Texas as a morning meteorologist at KVII in Amarillo then KEYE in Austin. There, she had the opportunity to storm chase in Tornado Alley, which is how she spent much of her free time.
When Nicole isn’t in the weather center, she loves traveling and being outdoors. SCUBA diving, skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, and (very amateur) photography are some of her favorite hobbies. Nicole and her husband, Dave, have three children who keep them on their toes.
“I consider being a trusted, reliable, and active member of the community one of the most important parts of the job,” says Nicole. “I have so much love for my hometown, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to give back.”
Nicole is involved with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She also visits schools across Atlanta and North Georgia to spark interest in meteorology and STEM.
