Rebecca Lindstrom is an investigative reporter for 11Alive Investigates in Atlanta. She joined the 11Alive team in April 2012.
Her investigations have been honored with national and regional Murrow awards and numerous Emmy Awards. In 2018, Rebecca was named Best Reporter by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters. She was most recently honored with the 2023 duPont-Columbia Award for her #Keeping series, which exposes the gaps in Georgia's mental health care system that cause thousands of children to be surrendered to state custody.
Rebecca has lived in Texas, Kentucky, Washington, Arizona, Missouri, South Carolina, North Carolina, California and Georgia. You could add Colorado and New Mexico if you counted her time in Americorps' National Civilian Community Corps. Each move brought a new adventure, but she knew when she landed in Atlanta, it was time to stay put!
Rebecca has had the opportunity to interview several U.S. presidents, movie stars, and corporate executives, but counts herself even more fortunate to have interviewed so many hard-working, compassionate members of the local community who welcome her into normally private moments in their lives.
Rebecca has a passion for investigative journalism, acting as a watchdog to expose corruption and hold those in power accountable. She has a special interest in covering issues related to child welfare, animal welfare and homeowners' rights.
Rebecca believes life isn't just about work. She enjoys hiking, scuba diving, skiing, photography and any trip that gives her family an excuse to get outdoors.
