Danielle Moss is a Weekend Meteorologist at 11Alive. Before joining 11Alive, Moss served as Chief Meteorologist at TEGNA station WATN-TV (ABC) in Memphis, Tennessee. During her time in Memphis, Moss was at the center of severe weather events, providing more than eight hours of live coverage during the area's deadly tornado outbreak in March 2023, as well as covering destructive thunderstorms and ice storms. Her station was also recognized for forecast accuracy for 12 consecutive years.
Joining 11Alive was a homecoming for Moss, as she grew up in the metro Atlanta city of Conley, Georgia, and graduated from Greater Atlanta Christian School.
Meteorology is a second career for Moss. She developed a passion for weather while working as a flight attendant. Moss earned a degree in meteorology from Mississippi State University and went on to work at WDEF-TV (CBS) in Chattanooga, Tennessee. There, she took on multiple roles, including meteorologist, weekend anchor, reporter, and producer. Moss was live on air when a massive tornado struck the East Brainerd area in 2020. That same year, she also covered Black Lives Matter protests in the early days of the pandemic.
Moss is a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. While at Jacksonville State, she was a Division I shot put thrower and a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, an organization she continues to support actively. Outside of her work in meteorology, Moss enjoys traveling, working out, and trying new restaurants.
