Adele (noun): 1. Gifted songstress; 2. heartstring harpist; 3. superlative performer.
The public has come to define Adele by her ability to effortlessly slay vocals, so much so that her seemingly flat Grammy performance left fans fuming — at the audio controller, of course. The British superstar later confirmed that technical issues were to blame. "The piano mics fell on to the piano strings, that's what the guitar sound was," she explained on Twitter late Monday, adding, "It made it sound out of tune. (Expletive) happens. X."
In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show early Thursday, Adele shared the technical glitch made her cry: "I was embarrassed. I woke up the next morning to people being like, ‘We still love you. Don't worry!' And I was like, ‘I didn't ask you if you still loved me, but thanks!' I was so embarrassed. I cried pretty much all day."
