ATLANTA — A familiar face is appearing on the next issue of a national magazine.
On Tuesday, Ebony magazine unveiled its cover for its October issue focused on politics. On it, is Atlanta's mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. Next to her are rising stars in the Democratic party, Sen. Kamala Harris of California and Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey.
Bottoms tweeted about the cover, saying, "Thank you @EbonyMag for the honor of joining @CoryBooker & KamalaHarris on this historic cover. Your timeless voice is greatly appreciated."
Bottoms made waves recently when she ordered the city to end its relationship with ICE and remove all detainees from the city jail.
“We will no longer be complicit with a policy that intentionally inflicts misery on a vulnerable population without giving any thought to the fallout,” Lance Bottoms said. “As the birthplace of the civil rights movement, we are called to be better than this.”
