ATLANTA — Atlanta's iconic Peach Drop is returning for its New Year's Eve celebration this year!
On Wednesday, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens announced the return of the city's beloved Peach Drop Festival at Underground Atlanta. The event will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 31, with the stage opening at 6 p.m.
Traditionally, the Peach Drop is when an 800-pound peach falls from a 138-foot tower to help count down to a new year, bringing in people from all over the state to Atlanta as a festive tourist attraction.
According to the mayor's announcement, the following artists will be performing:

- The event will also feature performances by Neon Trees, RES and local artists and emceed by Atlanta native and radio personality Ryan Cameron.
“It is my pleasure to bring this beloved tradition back to the heart of Downtown Atlanta during its truly historic and transformative renaissance,” Dickens said. “This event is a fun and exciting way for residents and visitors alike to ring in 2025 like only we can in the ATL.”
This year's Peach Drop announcement comes after a new agreement was reached between Atlanta City Council and Live Nation Entertainment.
Last year, the Peach Drop was canceled after the mayor said the city decided to dedicate its resources to other events and commemorations.
The Peach Drop also previously had another three-year hiatus during the COVID pandemic.
