ATLANTA-- Atlanta's Jean Kelley tried to win over fans nationwide in an effort to keep her spot on The Voice, but ultimately was sent home.
11Alive caught up with the Atlanta artist during rehearsals in L.A. Kelley's emotional performance of "Chandelier" during the battle round wowed judges and fans.
"I'm so blown away by the response the performance got. I had a vision for it that was my chance in competition to pick a song for myself so I saw that on the list I went for it. I knew it was risky because as Taylor Swift put it is an interpretive dance kind of performance of the song. But the risk paid off because people felt the emotion going into it, it showed up on the iTunes charts," Kelley said.
We asked her what she thought about a possible show-down with fellow Atlanta Voice contestant, James David Carter: "Bring it on! That would mean I get to stay in competition longer so I would love it. He is so much fun. I think we would have a really fun battle if we had to do one."
Kelley wasn't allowed to talk specifics about her song performance planned for Tuesday's live show, but she did say, "In this round and live playoffs we don't select songs four ourselves. Our coach gets to select it for us we can interpret our songs anyway we fell is true to ourselves and keep true to the original that means what mood is to the song you don't want to change it want to pay homage to the original I'm going to make it my one and still keep it in the vein of the original song."
