ATLANTA — Atlanta rapper Lil Baby was arrested in Las Vegas on Monday on a gun charge, according to police.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones, was arrested Monday morning around 5 a.m. in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard.
He is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, which is a felony in Nevada.
Jones' attorney told 11Alive he has a valid concealed weapon permit in Georgia.
"On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas," attorneys Drew Findling and David Chesnoff said in a statement.
Nevada honors licensing from some states, but Georgia does not appear to be one of them. The Nevada Public Department of Safety lists more than two dozen states in which it honors permits, but Georgia is not one of them.
NBC reports that Jones had an initial court appearance on Tuesday, during which he posted a cash bond.
It does not appear that he entered a plea, based on court records obtained by NBC News. His next hearing is on October 1.
This isn't the first time Jones has been in legal trouble. He was previously arrested in Atlanta in 2019 on several traffic violations, including reckless driving. The 4PF rapper was also briefly detained in Paris in 2021, along with NBA player James Harden, for allegedly carrying drugs.
