CLEVELAND — Downtown Cleveland has been packed with movie magic as the filming of Superman continues -- and there was a special surprise spotted on set as our news partners at Cleveland.com reported seeing the son of Superman icon Christopher Reeve on Tuesday.
According to Cleveland.com, Will Reeve was seen portraying what appears to be a TV news reporter during a scene filmed in Public Square while also getting a hug from director James Gunn. You can see videos and photos below...
Christopher Reeve, who held the role of Superman in multiple movies, passed away in 2004 at the age of 52.
'SUPERMAN' FILMING IN CLEVELAND
Crews have been in Northeast Ohio since last month, filming scenes for the movie in downtown Cleveland and at Mentor Headlands Beach.
3News captured this character attached to wires as cameras were rolling in Cleveland during sequences filmed on June 26.
Portions of downtown Cleveland have transformed into Metropolis with signs appearing throughout the city -- including a marquee for THE DAILY PLANET.
While the project is clearly Superman, which is set to be released on July 11, 2025, city officials and the Greater Cleveland Film Commission have not publicly confirmed those details.

While few details have been released about the plot of the new Superman movie, IMDB offers this brief description:
