GEORGIA, USA — The wait is over! The 2025 Grammy nominations are here, with many of your favorite artists landing a shot at adding a new award to their names.
Georgia showed out on the list, with multiple stars from the Peach State making the list of nominations for their work this year.
Here are the metro Atlanta stars who were nominated:
Usher
Metro Atlanta R&B star Usher has had an incredible year, from performing at the Super Bowl to getting Atlanta's highest award, the Phoenix Award.
He can now add another Grammy nomination to his list for his album "Coming Home," which was released shortly after he performed at the Super Bowl, for Best R&B album.
Usher's producer, Dernst "D Mile" Emile II, is also listed for the Producer of the Year award for his work on the singer's songs "I Love U" and "One of Them Ones."
Teddy Swims
Swims, who is from Conyers, was nominated for Best New Artist. He released his debut album "I've Tried Everything, But Therapy (Part 1)" in 2019. He will release his third studio album, "I've Tried Everything, But Therapy (Part 2)," in January.
Future
Atlanta rapper Future made the list for his work with Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin. He made the list for his song "Like That," which started a back-and-forth diss war between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
"Like That" was nominated for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
He also received a nomination for his album with Metro Boomin, "We Don't Trust You," for Best Rap Album and "We Still Don't Trust You" with Metro Boomin featuring The Weeknd.
André 3000
The piercingly tranquil, experimental work of an Atlanta icon is being recognized by the Recording Academy with a nomination for Grammy Album of the Year.
André 3000's "New Blue Sun" flute record was announced as an Album of the Year nominee on Friday.
The shock release of new André 3000 music last November, years after he had last released an album with Oukast, was doubly surprising when it emerged the record was a work of fluting.
Latto
The Clayton County-born artist was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her song "Big Mama."
Childish Gambino
The metro Atlanta artist and actor has been nominated for two Grammys for 2025.
His latest studio album, "Bando Stone And The New World," which appears to be the soundtrack of a movie of the same name, has been nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album.
Childish Gambino, whose real name is Donald Glover, has also been nominated for his feature on KAYTRANADA's song "Witchy" for Best Dance/Electronic Recording.
Clairo
Atlanta singer Clairo was nominated for her album "Charm" for Best Alternative Music Album.
Playboi Carti
Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti, also known as Jordan Carter, was nominated for his feature on Carnival by ¥$, Kanye West and Ty Dollar Sign's duo, for Best Rap Song.
Omari Hardwick
Actor Omari Hardwick who is well known for his role in the hit TV drama "Power" has also been nominated. The Decatur artist was nominated for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album for his "cOncrete & wHiskey Act II Part 1: A Bourbon 30 Series."
Jimmy Carter
On Friday, former President Carter was nominated for best audio book, narration, and storytelling recording (best spoken word album).
In total, Carter has been nominated for the Grammy Awards nine times, winning the Best Spoken Word Album category three times.
He is the oldest nominee at 100 years old.
Colin Leonard
Atlanta-based engineer who did the Mastering for Beyoncé's "TEXAS HOLD 'EM" (Record of the Year nominee) and "Cowboy Carter" (Album of the Year nominee). was nominated for Producer Of The Year, Classical.
Megan Moroney
Douglasville's songwriter was nominated several times for the Best Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical category.
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
Led by Nathalie Stutzmann, nominated in Best Orchestral Performance for Dvořák's Symphony No. 9, ‘From The New World’; American Suite.
