ATLANTA -- The new Netflix series Ozark, starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, premiered its 10-episode first season last Friday.

While the drama is set primarily in the Missouri Ozark Mountain region, the entire series was shot in metro Atlanta this past spring with many locations here doubling for locations depicted in the series.

The production crew was able to construct a set for the home owned by main characters Marty and Wendy Byrde near Little River Marina on Lake Allatoona in Canton, Georgia. Other locations that were used for shooting in the series included:

Victoria Harbour Marina and the Sunset Grille Restaurant, both on Lake Allatoona in Woodstock

Jones Bridge Park in Norcross

Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q in Marietta

Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Braselton

The Silver Skillet in Midtown Atlanta

This was by no means an exhaustive list of locations used for the series, but it can give you an idea as to some of the areas used during shooting.

In Ozark, Bateman stars as a Chicago-based financial planner who's been laundering money for a Mexican drug lord on the side and has to uproot his family and head to the hills -- literally -- when his partner is caught cheating the business. Once there, he runs afoul of a local drug dealer who wants all of his money. He's left finishing the laundering for the Mexican kingpin and dealing with the locals -- all while avoiding the FBI.
