For the first time, Burke Ramsey, brother of JonBenet, is speaking about his sister's tragic death.
"I know people think I did it; that my parents did it," Ramsey told Dr. Phil McGraw in an exclusive interview. "I know that we were suspects."
In December 1996, JonBenet, a 6-year-old child pageant star, was found dead in the basement of her family’s Colorado home. In the 20 years since the murder, no arrests have been made.
“I remember the viewing," Ramsey said. "The casket was small. Her eyes were closed.”
Ramsey said the media attention to the case made him a private person but he decided to do the interview because it was the 20th Anniversary.
"For a long time, the media basically made our lives crazy," he said. "(The media) would follow us around...Seeing that as a little kid, it was just kind of a chaotic nightmare."
The three-part interview between Ramsey and Dr. Phil began Monday. It continues Tuesday, September 13 and Monday, September 19. (check local listings).
