ATLANTA — Award-winning director Ava DuVernay will be filming an upcoming series for HBO Max in Atlanta, and she’s looking for new talent to appear in some scenes.
“DMZ” will star Rosario Dawson and is based on a 2005 Vertigo comic book with the same title, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series is about Manhattan becoming divided following a civil war.
Dawson is announced to appear as Alma, “a fierce medic who saves lives while desperately searching for her lost son.”
Central Casting is in the beginning stages of hiring actors for the HBO Max pilot. The team just announced they are looking for actors with a Hispanic background to appear in scenes.
Men and women between the ages of 18-70 are encouraged to apply for the background extra roles.
If you think you’ve got what it takes, send your headshot, resume and information to extras@roselockecasting.com
Just last week, DuVernay was in Atlanta promoting her upcoming anthology series, "Cherish The Day," premiering on the Oprah Winfrey Network next month.
It appears she’ll be making more time in Georgia this year with productions like this!
