ATLANTA — Angelica Hale will perform a special hometown concert for a cause dear to her family this weekend.
The young starlet is a National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Kid Ambassador and will host a benefit concert at City Springs, Byers Theatre on Saturday.
The 12-year-old received a kidney at six years old from her mom and wants to use her platform to bring awareness to the importance of kidney health and the need for increased living kidney donation.
She has invited volunteers from the Atlanta-based NKF Serving Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi office to be on hand at the venue before the performance to share with concert goers vital information about kidney disease, transplantation, how to keep the kidneys healthy.
Hale is a fan favorite on television’s America’s Got Talent where she is the only double Golden Buzzer performer.

According to the NKF, more than 726,000 Americans have irreversible kidney failure, or end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and need dialysis or a kidney transplant to survive. And 500,000 ESRD patients receive dialysis at least three times per week to replace kidney function.
Nearly 100,000 Americans are on the wait-list for a kidney transplant right now. Depending on where a patient lives, the average wait time for a kidney transplant can be upwards of three to seven years. Living organ donation not only saves lives, it saves money.
