Casting Call: Atlanta Fashion show will spotlight individuals with Down syndrome

The organizations says this is the only casting call to allow family, and friends to come out and support and cheer them on.

ATLANTA — A fashion show coming to Atlanta is now casting individuals with Down syndrome.

The Art of Runway Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works with individuals with Down syndrome.

The organization will be going to major cities and holding casting calls to provide runway training for “Rocking My Extra Chromosome,” a show taking place in January of 2020.

This casting call will be held at GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta located at 549 Amsterdam Ave. NE #1 on Sept. 29.

“Models will rip not only their personalities, but show off their highly professional trained runway skills. Rocking My Extra Chromosome is the only casting call to allow family, and friends to come out and support and cheer them on,” Perez said.

Rocking My Extra Chromosome will donate 100% of net proceeds to The Art of Runway. Last year, the organization’s 2018 event raised over $3,000.

The organization’s mission to help individuals build their confidence and getting professionally trained on how to walk the runway.
