Contestants from Georgia appear in 'Love is Blind' on Netflix

Here are some of the popular couples with Atlanta connections who appear on the show now in its first season on Netflix.

ATLANTA — The latest dating show to hit your screens was actually filmed in Atlanta and features a slew of Georgia residents.

Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa currently host “Love is Blind,” which was recently announced as the streaming network’s top show. But it’s the contestants on the show that have really contributed to its popularity, and they all have ties to the Peach state.

Here’s a look at some of the show’s notable contestants.

KENNY BARNES & KELLY CHASE

The 27-year-old architectural lighting consultant is a quiet fixture on “Love is Blind”.  He and Kelly Chase have made it to the wedding on the show. Chase, 32,  revealed she is attracted to Barnes as a friend, but not romantically.

MATT BARNETT &  AMBER PIKE

The ladies of “Love is Blind” are burning up over Matt Barnett.   Several of the contestants have been won over by Barnett’s charming personality, including Amber Pike. The 26-year-old cocktail waitress’ fiery personality instantly attracted Barnett.  Matt is a 27-year-old engineer who is ready to be part of a mature relationship. The two have clashed on finances and lifestyle preferences, in addition to a looming third wheel.

CAMERON HAMILTON & LAUREN SPEED

If “Love is Blind” had a prom king and queen, it would be contestants Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed.

The couple’s interracial romance became a trending topic on Twitter. Hamilton, a 29-year-old CEO, has had several serious relationships.

Speed,32, is a content creator who wants romance based off a real connection not just physical attraction.

The couple was the first to be engaged on the show and is one of the most popular on social media.

DAMIAN POWERS & GIANNINA GIBELLI

Viewers are glued to the drama between this couple.  The couple tends to be at odds throughout the course of the show.

Powers, 28, came on the show after setting up his friends with love but never finding his own.

Gibelli, 25, is a retail business owner who doesn’t subscribe to society’s rules. Together, it’s a cat and mouse of who can offer the most passion.

“That’s how we talk in our family, we just yell.” Gibelli once said during an episode.

CARLTON MORTON & DIAMOND JACK

Diamond Jack wants to find love out of the ordinary. She wants to be seen for more than her looks. So the NBA dancer is hoping to find that in Carlton Morton, who is a 34-year old social media and marketing manager in Atlanta.

Jack, 28,is unaware that Morton revealed he identifies as bisexual to production crews on the show. Viewers are clinging on to the moment in which Morton tells Jack about all of his romantic preferences.

Recently, social media found out Morton once appeared in an episode of "Real Housewives of Atlanta."

MARK CUEVAS & JESSICA BATTEN

Age is at the center of Mark and Jessica’s romantic debacle (in addition Jessica’s obsession with Barnett).

Cuevas, a 24-year-old personal trainer, is on a mission to prove that he is mature enough for a serious relationship.

Batten, a 34-year-old who works in tech sales, is torn because she’s developed feelings for Mark but Barnett remains a thorn at her side.

The series finale of "Love is Blind" will premiere, February 27, 2020 on Netflix.
