Georgia State University professor to take on 'Jeopardy!' champion James Holzhauer

The episode airs Monday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. on 11Alive.

One of Georgia State University’s professors takes on “Jeopardy!” champion James Holzhauer in Monday’s episode of the trivia quiz show.

Adam Stone is an associate professor at Georgia State’s Perimeter College. He’s been studying for years for this moment.

“I have watched the show almost every day since 1988, and – for years – talked about appearing,” Stone told GSU. “But it was my older son who convinced me to try out.”

Stone is the associate department chair for Social Sciences at the Alpharetta campus, specializing in American politics. According to his biography on the GSU website, he attended UC Berkeley and got his masters from Brandeis University. He’s been with the school (then DeKalb College) since 1991.

“We’re wishing the best of luck to our Professor Adam Stone of @GSU_Perimeter who will appear on “Jeopardy!” today to take on champion James Holzhauer. That’s #TheStateWay! Be sure to tune in,” GSU tweeted.

Holzhauer, a 35-year-old sports gambler, has won 22 games and $1.6 million.
