'Love and Hip Hop Miami' star Prince reveals new musical sound

If you've heard of Christopher Michael Harty, you probably know him as any one of his monikers: Prince from Love and Hip Hop: Miami, Prince Has Spoken from his eccentric social media accounts, or even The Fresh Prince of South Beach attained from his days of extravagance as a top promoter in Miami.

If you’ve heard of Christopher Michael Harty, you probably know him as any one of his monikers: Prince from Love and Hip Hop: Miami, Prince Has Spoken from his eccentric social media accounts, or even The Fresh Prince of South Beach attained from his days of extravagance as a top promoter in Miami.

His confidence is as intoxicating as it is initially offsetting. Although, according to Prince himself, he may come off as “arrogant’ and “cocky” on “Love and Hip Hop: Miami,” he says that is a small part of him that the reality TV show shines a light on.

Prince’s attire may show his personality off better than we ever could. Your sight is immediately drawn to the flashy chains around his neck and the patent leather Saint Laurent shoes that reflected off of the lights in the studio, before making it to his Champion sweatshirt that anyone could pick up at their local Wal-Mart. There’s definitely enough there to show off his personality, but also proof that he stays down to earth, and true to himself.

Born and raised in Miami, Prince was looked after primarily by his mother. After a rocky relationship with his birthfather and an altercation with his stepfather put a rift between he and the men in his life, it was really just himself, his mother and his younger sister in his life.

It is the heightened understanding and appreciation of women attained from his living situation, he says, along with his looks and charisma, that gave him the ability to walk down Ocean Drive with 15-20 beautiful women by his side.

By the time Prince had begun living this ‘promoter’ lifestyle, with women and parties just a call away, his DM’s were filling up with messages from celebrities, athletes and socialites, requesting his services. Some of his clients included Amber Rose, Diddy, Fabolous, Trey Songz, Jason Pierre-Paul, Serge Ibaka, Kyrie Irving and Floyd Mayweather Jr., to name a few.

It was this notoriety that earned him a spot-on Love and Hip Hop: Miami. Felisha Monet, a radio personality on a South Florida hip-hop station, was handling the casting for the most recent installment of the popular reality TV show. She soon joined the list of celebs in Prince’s DM’s, although this one was a little different. Monet wasn’t looking for an opportunity to party, she was providing him an opportunity to further his career.

“You can’t apply, you don’t go to a casting call, they have to want you and reach out to you,” Prince says. He was simply lying in bed when he got the direct message. And next thing he knew, he was in front of cameras being casted for the show.

And If you’ve never heard of Prince, well, you’re about to. That’s according to him, at least. But it’s hard to deny his claim. Next month, he will add yet another moniker to the list: Papi SHAM Poo. This is the name under which you will hear Prince’s music.

And even with none out currently, he’s confident that this is the part that will push him into the next level of super-stardom. “When that song drops, the world will know my name.” He’s even planned ahead, talking about what he’ll do after his first project comes out, “You’re touring, you’re traveling, residuals, and then I can take that money and go put it into my other portfolios.” He’s already seven songs into his EP entitled, “P.S. I Love You” and it’ll be available to pre-order. You’ll even be able to hear his first single and video on August 3. The A-Scene got a sneak-peek of the song, and boy is it catchy, it just makes you want to dance!

With acting, modeling, promoting and music already on his resumé, it’s hard to challenge his excitement for the next steps in his life. It’s easy, however, to share in the enthusiasm he exudes, so that’s just what we’ll do. Sit back, relax and enjoy his journey to becoming the next full-blown music mogul!
