ATLANTA — When Disney+ announced a string of upcoming projects produced by Marvel Studios during the D23 Expo at Comic Con, fans got excited about the new content featuring characters we have not seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet.
“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” is one of the new shows that will be featured on the Disney + streaming platform, and it just kicked off production.
Actors Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, who star as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier and Sam Wilson/Falcon, did an Instagram video documenting their first day on set.
“Marvel has asked me to take over this account so I’m shutting it down. Marvel Style – VIP status. It’s Falcon all day, “ Mackie said.
Sebastian chimed in and announced his takeover to the account.
“Well, I don’t know what he’s talking about. I’m the one who's really been around for a long time. He’s wrong and I’m right so there’s that,” Stan added.
After posting solo video clips, the two finally came together to make the official announcement.
“The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is now in production,” the duo attempted to say in unison.
Mackie then solidified day one on-set by posting photos of the actors' chairs on Twitter with the caption, “ And so it begins! Welcome back guys... #TheFalconandtheWinterSoldier #PlayBoys #Legdaysaveslives #setlife #Marvel."
According to Marvel, Emily VanCamp will reprise her role as Sharon Carter, and Wyatt Russell will be playing John Walker, a character fans of the franchise are familiar with.
Fans will be able to start streaming on Disney+ beginning Nov. 12.
You can expect to see "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier" when it launches in 2020.
