It’s one of NBC’s newest medical dramas, and we got a chance to sit down with one of the stars Jocko Sims.
This is the real-life account of the untold stories of doctors and patients at New York City’s Bellview Hospital.
Take a listen at what actor Jocko Sims says sets this show apart.
It’s the David and Goliath story about one man against the system. A show based on a book written by a medical director who shares real life experiences as he fights against bureaucracy at New York City’s Bellview Hospital for the sake of his patients.
“You’re watching the scene. I look like the guy in charge and then you have assistance and nurses. They are actual surgeons and actual nurses,” Sims said.
All done to make every technique and procedure look accurate. On the show, Sims’ character is the good doctor who puts his patients first and is great at what he does but viewers quickly realize he has battle of his own.
"I loved telling this real-life story. The fact that I got to tell stories that were true that just really resonated well with me," Sims said.
