The most recent season of “Stranger Things” left fans on the edge of their seats, and an event coming to the Atlanta area will give them a chance to see the stars in person.
“Stranger Con: A Salute to the TV Series Stranger Things” is the only convention in the Southeastern region.
The two-day fan fest will be hosted by Chester Rushing and will feature a cosplay contest in which fans will dress as any character from the show or anything with an 80's theme.
During a Karaoke Party, attendees will take a trip back to the 80's and sing along to their favorite hits of the time.
Cast members including Millie Bobby Brown as the enigmatic Eleven, Noah Schnapp as the sweet Will Byers, and Caleb McLaughlin as the stalwart Lucas Sinclair are set to appear the event.
The first season of "Stranger Things" was a love letter to 80's classics that captivated a generation.
The A-Scene: Behind the scenes of 'Stranger Things' Season 3
The series is set in 1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl, Eleven.
"Stranger Things" season two took us to 1984, where citizens of Hawkins, Indiana were still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down, but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
In the third season, romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart. Meanwhile, danger looms.
When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.
Atlanta’s very own Priah Ferguson returns as Erica Sinclair, the younger sister of Mclaughlin’s character Lucas on the show.
The Gwinnett Place Mall was re-imagined on "Stranger Things" as The Starcourt Mall.
The Starcourt Mall represents 1980's retail at its best with the finest shopping facilities in America and beyond with options for the entire family. Including the Gap, Waldenbooks, Sam Goody, Claire's and more! Don't forget to cool off at Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream shop. And it’s all set in the summer of 1984.
“Stranger Con: A Salute to the TV Series Stranger Things” takes place December 14-15, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.
