ATLANTA — Entertainment mogul Tyler Mogul is expressing his concern for the residents affected by Hurricane Dorian.
“To all the incredible people of the Bahamas who have welcomed me and called me an adoptive son, I want you to know that I am watching closely, and as soon as I can,” Perry wrote in a heartfelt social media post.
As parts of the U.S. brace for Hurricane Dorian's impact, the amount of destruction caused by the storm in the Bahamas is devastating.
The Prime Minister of the Bahamas said Monday they are dealing with "a historic tragedy" and the devastation is "unprecedented and extensive."
Nearly two days after the Marsh Harbour was thrashed by Dorian, an ominous ceiling of gray clouds still hung over the island as Petramala surveyed the damage.
As of Tuesday, the official death toll stood at five, according to the government, and included a young boy who reportedly drowned. But reports from local media of bodies floating in floodwaters stoked fears that the number of fatalities would skyrocket in the days ahead.
11Alive spoke to a woman who survived the hurricane and flooding. She said 'no one is okay' as residents look for safe and dry places to go for shelter.
Perry, who is no stranger to helping out people during hard times, wrote he will do his part to help rebuild the Bahamas.
