A big time Atlanta philanthropist is kicking off the holiday season by helping a few Atlantans pay off a bill.
Entertainment mogul Tyler Perry took to Twitter to inform people with items on layaway at two Walmart stores that he has taken care of the bill.
Anyone who placed an item on layaway before 9:30 a.m. Thursday Dec. 6 at either of the locations can head to the store to pick up those items.
The two stores are located at 844 Cleveland Avenue in East Point and 7001 Concourse Parkway in Douglasville, Georgia.
My East Point News reporter Olivia LaBorde spoke to Rhonda Brockington, the store manager of the East Point location. Brockington told 11Alive Perry paid $176,635.57 for all of the items.
Perry says he's very grateful to be in the position to help others who may be struggling to provide during the holiday season.
