Marietta, GA- The movie Tyson's Run is wrapping up production in Georgia soon, but not before hiring hundreds of behind-the-scenes crew and background extras.
While Writer/Director Kim Bass handles the creative side of making the movie, Executive Producer John Cappetta handles the financial side of the film's making.
He says Georgia's tax incentive for movie making got them to take a close look at the state, but he also says the industry has reached, "critical mass". That means there is a good supply of highly trained and experienced people to do the hard work behind-the-scenes that it takes to get a film made.
He calls film making the "ultimate gig economy" and points out that the dozens of crew members, many hired locally, never all worked together as a team before the movie filming started. But they are able to quickly team up to work as production assistants, make-up artists, set photographers, and handle the hundreds of behind the scenes jobs it takes to bring a script to life.
He says the key to making a living in that gig economy is to network, network, network so that when one production is wrapping up, you've got a new one lined up.
Even though he handles the business side, you'll be able to see Cappetta once the movie comes out. Take a close look at the pastor in the film once it hits screens sometime in 2019.
Tyson's Run is wrapping up next week but they need a ton of extras for one of the movie's most important scenes. Here's the link to more information on that casting call from Southern Casting Associates.
