Waka Flocka: Georgia anti-abortion bill is terrible

The rapper and actor weighed in on Hollywood's backlash against this move.

ATLANTA — Riverdale’s very own Waka Flaka Flame stopped by The A-Scene to talk about his debut role in “Mollywood,” which is available On Demand.

For the role, he certainly got down and dirty. The story follows a deranged serial killer who poses as a drug dealer to lure his unsuspecting victims.

The suspense/horror flick features Vinicius Machado (HBO’s “True Detective”, Starz’s “Power”), Micah Fitzgerald (“Westworld”, YouTube’s “Escape the Night”), Billy Dec (“Entourage,” Miss Arizona), Leslie Lopez, and London on Da Track (theatrical acting debut).

“Mollywood” was written by first-time screenwriter Ken Hoyd and features the directorial debut of Morocco Vaughn.

During our interview, Waka revealed he had to be in makeup for two hours each day for his crazy character.

The mogul and husband is also gearing up for another season of “Meet The Flokas.”

So, we asked about his view on Georgia’s controversial "Heartbeat Bill," and the domino effects it is having on productions here.

“If you’re gonna take a stand for one, you need to take a stand for all. They (studios) ain’t take a stand on police brutality of African-Americans yet," he said.

Waka said the idea of the law isn't terrible but for the law itself...

"It is terrible. You can’t force that on everyone,” he said.

The bill, signed in May, restricts abortions when a fetal heartbeat is detected, as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. It will not take effect until January 2020.
