ATLANTA — The first full week of 2020 has the film and television industry heading back to work after the holiday hiatus.
Take a look at some of the current projects filming throughout parts of Georgia.
COUNCIL OF DADS
"Council of Dads" is a new show coming to NBC in March and takes place, and is shooting, in Savannah, Georgia.
The show is inspired by best-selling author Bruce Feiler's book "The Council of Dads." It is also produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Midwest Livestock Productions.
NBC reports Tony Phelan and Joan Rater ("Grey's Anatomy") will serve as writers and executive producer, along with David Gould, Jason Wilborn, and Jerry Bruckheimer.
Actors Sarah Wayne Callies, Clive Standen, Tom Everett Scott, J. August Richards, Blue Chapman, Emjay Anthony, Michele Weaver, Thalia Tran, Steven Silver and Michael O'Neill are all set to appear in the comedy.
Episodes for the March 2020 season are currently in progress, and producers are hiring background actors for a shoot taking place on Thursday.
Southern Casting Call shared that crews are looking to play “crab shack patrons."
"If you can commit to a full day filming, and are local to Savannah, register in our database, then email us at: Councilextras@gmail.com with the heading of the role in which you are applying (ex: “Tuesday AA sous chef”, Thursday Crab Shack Patron”, etc…)," the crew shared in a post on the site.
Pay rate for background actors = $100.00/10. ($100.00 for up to 10 hours of work.

RENOVATION NATION
A new unscripted series from the creators of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is looking to feature families from metro Atlanta.
Mystic Art Pictures is casting for “Renovation Nation,” a new show that “will change the lives of a deserving few.”
According to Atlanta Extras Casting, filming dates are between March 2020 and May 2020.
Homeowners going after the opportunity must be at least 18 years of age to apply and live in the Greater Atlanta area.

DYNASTY
If you want to appear in the third season of the hit drama series “Dynasty,” here’s your chance!
Central Casting was looking for actors to be featured in a scene featuring a reality TV camera crew. The shoot will take place multiple days between Jan. 6-20 in Norcross.
“We are looking for MEN 18+ who appear 20-40’s to portray a HIGHLY FEATURED camera crew. Must be available for an interview with the Director on MONDAY 1/6/20 at 4pm (Rate: $22/2)
Must be comfortable and physical able to hold heavy equipment through multiple takes,” as mentioned in a casting call description.
Actors who have appeared in the show should not apply for this opportunity. Producers say they are looking to feature fresh new talent only.
“Dynasty” comes from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the team behind shows like “Gossip Girl” and “The O.C.”
The reboot follows the same basic premise as the original: two of America’s wealthiest families feuding over their fortune.

TYLER PERRY PRODUCTIONS
Tyler Perry is just getting started with more productions coming to the state of Georgia.
Ever since the historic grand opening of his studio, we've just learned, according to Explore Georgia, he's been working on two more new shows for BET+ and Nickelodeon. The A-Scene first learned about the production for Nickelodeon back in October.
The star went on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" where he talked about making so many dreams come true through his own platforms.
The writer, actor, producer delivered quite the surprise during the appearance. The beloved talk show host welcomed 10-year-old rapper Dylan Gilmer, also known as “Young Dylan,” from Annapolis, Maryland.
Dylan came on the show to talk about his guest-starring role on the revival of Nickelodeon’s hit series “All That,” which Ellen helped him secure. Ellen shared her excitement for the young star with Perry, who was blown away by Dylan’s audition tape.
But it didn’t stop there, Perry surprised Dylan by announcing he’s writing a show with Dylan as the lead for Nickelodeon. Ellen kept the surprises coming by giving the young star some gifts to help set up his new dressing room.
LOVECRAFT COUNTRY
Production on J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele’s upcoming "Lovecraft Country" is still active going into the new year.
Project Casting reports producers are casting for an actress to portray the wife of an actor. The actress must be an Asian woman ages 19 to 24. Filming goes down Jan. 13. If you think you’ve got what it takes for the upcoming role, send your info here.
“Lovecraft County” is another major production that is currently still filming throughout Georgia.
Production began in June and continues to film throughout parts of Marietta under the basecamp code “RP."
When The A-Scene went to visit BlackHall Studios in October, CEO Ryan Milsap confirmed that the series had a “Game of Thrones budget" and was utilizing three sound stages at his facility.
Michael Kenneth Williams, who was once featured in HBO’s inner-city drug traffic series “The Wire," returns as the star of "Lovecraft Country." His co-star Jurnee Smollett also retweeted his excitement for the show's release.
The new series will hit your screens next year.

SUICIDE SQUAD: 2
The sequel to the 2016 blockbuster has been in production in Atlanta since late summer.
The action-packed film is part of the shared DC cinematic universe that began with “Man of Steel” and continued in 2016's “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” with Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman.

Last month, actor Idris Elba took a break from set sequel to watch some action court side during an Atlanta Hawks game against Toronto.
The A-List star was spotted taking pics with some ball players before the game. An Insider tells The A-Scene Elba chatted it up with Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins in addition to both Vince Carter and Trae Young.
We’ve also spotted the director James Gunn hanging out with the cast members off set throughout the city of Atlanta. Poor Calvin’s, which is an Asian fusion restaurant off Piedmont, was the choice for dining for Gunn, just a few weeks ago.
The "Suicide Squad" sequel hits theaters August of 2021.
SYLVESTER STALLONE'S 'SAMARITAN'
Sylvester Stallone is making his next major motion picture in Georgia.
It's called “Samaritan," and it’s a thriller about a young boy who is out to discover a mythical superhero - one that actually exists - after disappearing 20 years, earlier following a tragic event.
Deadline reports screenwriter Bragi F. Schut ("Escape Room") is tapped to bring the story to life. Stallone and Braden Aftergood will produce the project through their company Balboa Productions.
Stallone's upcoming MGM thriller hits theaters in December of 2020.
