ATLANTA — Team Legend's Maelyn Jarmon was the only woman among the top 4 finalists, and is now crowned the official winner of season 16 of 'The Voice'.
Jarmon was the only finalist to turn four chairs, and she's been a front runner all season.
Prior to the big win, the final four artists performed live for the coaches three times: one solo cover, a special duet with their coach and the debut of their first original single.
“This whole process has made me trust my instincts more. I definitely know way better who I am as an artist,” Jarmon said.
In contrast to Jarmon, Andrew Sevener only got Blake’s chair to turn. He was also the last finalist to qualify via instant save.
“I go in there and I just go with the attitude I'm just going to do my best and whatever happens, happens,” Sevener said.
Dexter Roberts carries a similar sentiment into the finale. As another member of Team Blake, he gets coaching advice that's short and to the point.
“He just tells us to go out there and have fun. And be yourself,” Roberts said.
Gyth Rigdon completed Team Blake's trio and he says while the finalists all want to win. Their "Voice" experience has created a bond.
“No matter if it's my name, or either one of these, contestants' names, it's not going to matter, we're going to support each other, 110 percent,” Rigdon said.
Jarmon's name is on the grand prize of a recording contract.
