CALIFORNIA, USA — Atlanta-based rapper and actor Clifford “T.I.” Harris and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, were awarded $71 million in a lawsuit against MGA Entertainment, a major toy manufacturer.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, centered on allegations that MGA’s “OMG Dolls” misappropriated the likeness and image of the OMG Girlz, a former girl group closely associated with the Harrises.
On September 23, 2024, a final verdict was reached, awarding $71 million to the Harrises. According to the ruling, the Harrises alleged that the dolls marketed by MGA bore a striking resemblance to the members of the OMG Girlz. The OMG Girlz, which gained popularity in the early 2010s, included Tiny's daughter, Zonnique Pullins, and became well-known for their unique fashion and colorful hairstyles — attributes that the Harrises claimed were copied by MGA.
The court documents outline that MGA profited significantly from the sale of the OMG Dolls, which the Harrises argued was done without proper authorization or compensation. Despite MGA’s defense, the verdict favored the Harrises, awarding them millions in damages.
MGA has yet to announce if they will appeal the ruling.
