What are those abbreviations on those yellow signs?

Those yellow movie production signs have weird abbreviations on them pointing to movie sets and production locations around metro Atlanta, but what do the codes actually mean? We've got your key to some of them.

With a large number of movie and television productions getting up to speed, the number of yellow production signs popping up around metro Atlanta has grown significantly in recent weeks.

The signs are used to point out where the production locations are -- especially for crews looking both for the locations themselves, and simply to find out where to park once they've arrived.

Various codes are noted on the signs to note which productions are underway in a given location. Some productions are somewhat obvious -- HAHN has been used in the past for location shoots for the Tyler Perry nighttime soap The Haves and the Have Nots. Others are much more obscure and much harder to discern.

Some locations get used for multiple days, while others are being used for one day or even a part of a day. In some cases, multiple productions will use the same location at different points, redressing the location as an entirely different setting. That's one of the fantastic things about production in Georgia -- it's so adaptable, which is one of the things that makes location spotting so much fun!

Here's a list of some of the abbreviations we have noted recently, along with what we have determined to be the associated productions. It is by no means exhaustive, as there are new productions getting underway constantly. Feel free to let us know if you've seen others.
