BRADENTON, Fla. — A Florida officer's bodycam video shows the moment he rescued a dog locked inside a hot car in 90-degree heat.
The Bradenton Police Department posted on social media earlier this week that Sgt. Bordin broke the window of a white SUV to get to the crying pup.
In the bodycam video, you can hear the officer saying, "I know, buddy, I'm gonna get you out-- you're hot in there, I get it."
Moments later, Bordin smashes the SUV's window. Once he gets inside the car, you can hear the dog panting, and she jumps over to the officer.
"That's a good girl," Bordin said in the video. "We'll get you some water, don't worry."
The police department wrote in the social media post that the dog downed a whole liter of water before being taken to the vet for a checkup.
"The temperature inside the vehicle was significantly higher, and it appeared the dog had been left alone for quite some time," the police department added in the post.
Authorities were able to find the dog's owner after the rescue. However, the dog remains in the custody of animal services while police continue their investigation.
