DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A cat was rescued after a home went up in flames in DeKalb County on Wednesday, according to the fire department.
It happened around 10:45 a.m. at a home on Tilson Circle. Photos posted to DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department's Facebook page show crews on top of the home with heavy smoke from the roof.
The department said everyone was out of the home when the fire started, but when crews went to the home, a cat was found. Crews administered aid to the cat.
Firefighters said that the fire was mostly coming from the kitchen and later was determined to be a cooking fire.
No one was hurt, according to the department.
