GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police are issuing tips regarding coyote safety after receiving reports about the animals from residents in the area.
While coyotes are a part of the natural environment, officers are still encouraging residents to follow these precautions to ensure they and their pets are safe:
- Secure food sources, including pet food, birdseed and any fruit that may have fallen from trees
- Keep smaller pets indoors, especially at night. Always supervise your pets as well and keep dogs on leashes.
- Call Gwinnett Animal Welfare at 770-339-3200 for assistance if you notice a coyote exhibiting unusual behavior.
