MANVEL, Texas — The Manvel Police Department came to the rescue of three dogs spotted stranded in a pond on Monday.

When the call came in around 6 a.m., Sgt. Peters and Officer Garcia acted quickly. They said the pooches appeared tired and frightened when they found them.

One by one, the officers pulled them from the water.

"Hey, come here, baby," the officer told the first dog as he pulled it out. "It's OK. Come here."

The other two dogs saw their buddy get rescued and waited their turn.

"Hey, buddy, it's OK," the other officer told the second dog.

"Come here, oh we got you," he said as he pulled the last dog out.

The grateful pups were dried off and kept calm until their owner was found.

"The dogs are now safe and sound with their owner," Manvel PD posted on Facebook. "We want to make sure everyone keeps an eye out on their animals as this pond has a bulkhead and not a bank."

A woman who commented said the dogs belonged to her.

"Those are my dogs, they are home safe now! Thank you so much officers for saving my babies," she posted.
