Florida man plucks 9-foot gator from pool with his bare hands after 'playing around' with it to tire it out

Gator rescuer Paul Bedard said he usually "plays around" with the gator first to tire it out. On Tuesday he pulled this alligator from a pool in Parkland, Fla.

PARKLAND, Fla. — An alligator looking for a place to cool off Tuesday took to a pool in Parkland, Florida. Gator rescuer Paul Bedard came to the rescue and plucked the nearly 9-foot gator from the pool using his bare hands. Before bagging it, Bedard said in an Instagram post that he usually tries to "play around" with the gator to tire it out. Bedard wrote in the post that the alligator was "super mellow" and allowed him to catch it and tape it up from the front. After some "play" Bedard carried the 8-foot 8-inch alligator to his truck.

Bedard and his coworker Gabby Scampone are known as the “Gator Boys,” rescuing alligators from Florida backyards, swimming pools, garages and even bedrooms. According to their website, the captured animals are taken to Everglades Holiday Park.
