COBB COUNTY, Ga. — It was a miracle as firefighters and an animal rescue group scurried to rescue a horse stuck in a boggy Cobb County creek on Monday.

It happened just around 6 p.m. when the owners of the mare found her stuck and mildly hypothermic.

Cobb County Fire and the Large Animal Rescue Group then sedated the horse and dragged her across the creek and up a small embankment. She took about 20 minutes to finally recover and was back to walking as if it never happened.

The rescue group said on Facebook that the mare was "doing well."

"Thanks to all the donated equipment and funds to LARG and to Cobb Fire’s skilled/trained firemen, equipment, and brawn, we had everything needed for a successful rescue," said the Large Animal Rescue Group said in its post.
