NEWNAN, Ga. — The Newnan Police Department welcomed a new furry member to the team this week: K-9 Nyxx.
Newnan Police posted on social media that Nyxx, who was born last July, joined the force from Bluegrass Bloodhounds in Grayson County, Kentucky.
"As a puppy, he began his training in scent-specific trailing and tracking," the police department wrote.
Nyxx was donated by the nonprofit Jimmy Ryce Center for Victims of Predatory Abduction.
"We would like to thank the following organizations for their support in helping us acquire and train Nyxx, Bluegrass Bloodhounds, AKC Reunite, Newnan Kennel Club, Newnan Coweta Public Safety Foundation, and the Newnan Kiwanis Club," the police department added in the post.
The K-9 is partnered with Officer James Ball. Take a moment to welcome K-9 Nyxx to the squad!
