ATLANTA — There are new scams targeting seniors that are sweeping the country, and it's costing Medicare a fortune.
If a family member has had cancer and you're offered a free DNA test, watch out! They will ask for your Medicare number and you may never get the results. It's a racket to rip off Medicare, using Medicare numbers for a variety of fraudulent claims.
AARP says these con artists are even visiting senior centers.
Also keep a close eye out for counterfeit drugs sold on the internet and anti-aging products that may not work.
