ATLANTA — Buckhead’s Phipps Plaza is adding a well-known commodity of Atlanta's bakery scene.
Mall giant Simon Property Group Inc. said Monday it's leasing a 5,300-square-foot space at Phipp's to Alon’s Bakery & Market. It will be located near Agency Socialtheque Restaurant & Bar and Nordstrom. There will be access to Alon's from inside and outside the mall, according to a Simon spokesperson. There will also be parking spaces dedicated to pick-up orders.
Shaun Weinstock, of Weinstock Realty & Development, brokered the deal.
The café and bakery opened a 1,300-square-foot shop in the Morningside neighborhood in 1992 and added a more than 11,000-square-foot location in Dunwoody in 2008. Alon’s replicates the feel of a European market, serving made-from-scratch breads, European-style cakes, pastries, sandwiches, prepared foods, cheeses and chocolates. It's slated to open its Buckhead location in late summer 2020.
