Popular Atlanta pizza shop closing its doors after more than a decade in business

After 12 years in business, Ammazza Pizza took to social media to announce that its lease is ending.

ATLANTA — A popular pizza shop in Edgewood announced it's closing its doors permanently on New Year's Eve.

After 12 years in business, Ammazza Pizza took to social media to announce that its lease is ending. The restaurant is located at the intersection of Edgewood and Randolph Street.

The pizzeria is known for its wood-fired oven-cooked pizza, including its specialty red and white pies, along with its regionally sourced farms and meats, among many other delicacies.

"Ammazza has been made possible by the efforts of so many people. Hundreds of individuals over the last 12 years sacrificed their time and energy to make Ammazza possible," the pizza shop wrote in the post. "The gratitude is beyond words. Thank You to everyone for all of your contributions."

However, it did hint at the possibility that they could reopen elsewhere in the future.

"We hope to see everyone in the future in a new location, but until then, Thank You to everyone for your long time support," the post read.
