Downtown favorite Buenos Dias Café announces expansion to West End

The downtown restaurant is planning a new bodega at Met Atlanta

ATLANTA — Since 2012, Buenos Dias Café has made its home on Decatur St. in downtown Atlanta, but now the café’s team is planning a new adventure.

But restaurant regulars, fear not! The beloved Decatur St. spot isn’t going anywhere. Instead, owners Ken and Jeannette Katz are sharing their Latin menu with a new West End audience.

La Bodega at the Met is planned for the Met Atlanta Complex on Murphy Ave., with an official opening planned for late 2019.

“We plan on a series of chef pop ups with prepared to go food via a to go window as early as late June. These pop ups, like our future menu at the Met will feature healthy take on Latin food highlighting vegan and vegetarian choices utilizing as many local producers and makers as possible,” Ken Katz told 11Alive’s At the Table ATL.

“Our excitement for opening this new store is only surpassed by the enthusiasm and support we have received from people in the west side neighborhoods thus far. We believe we are venturing into an area of town that will really support us as we strive to bring them a new option for good food,” Katz added.
